1967:  The first hat-trick ever against the Minnesota North Stars at Met Center came by Stan Makita of the Chicago Blackhawks in a 4-1 defeat over the Stars.

1967:  Former NHL goalie Robb Stauber born in Duluth, MN.  Stauber played in the NHL 1989-90 through 1994-95 with Los Angeles and Buffalo.

1972:  Minnesota goaltender Cesare Maniago got a shutout in the North Stars' 3-0 win over the Kings at Los Angeles.  It was the 21st career shutout for Maniago.

1972:  Former NHL defenseman Petteri Nummelin born in Turku, Finland.  Nummelin played in the NHL 2000-01 through 2007-08 with Columbus and the Minnesota Wild.

1975:  Detroit Red Wings traded Pierre Jarry to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Don Martineau.

1981:  Dino Ciccarelli scored twice and added an assist to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-4 tie with the visiting Capitals.  Darren Veitch had two goals and an assist for Washington.

1981:  Minnesota North Stars signed Mike Antonovich as a free agent.

1987:  Aaron Broten had 2 goals and 3 assists as New Jersey won 8-7 in overtime in Edmonton to become the 2nd team in NHL history to finish last overall one season and then beat the defending Stanley Cup Champs in their first two meetings the next season.

1987:  Eden Prairie police arrested Dino Ciccarelli, and ticketed him on a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure for allegedly stepping out of his Eden Prairie home some 2-4 feet dressed in only a sweatshirt, after a local neighbor called police "stating that on days of North Stars home games, Ciccarelli would commonly walk outside with minimal clothes on".

1988:  Brian Bellows scored his third career hat trick, including two goals within a span of 1:13, as the Minnesota North Stars beat the Maple Leafs, 5-3 at the Met Center.

1988:  Phil Housley had two assists along with the winning goal at 3:15 of OT to lead the Sabres to a 5-4 win over the Blackhawks in Buffalo.

1992:  Ottawa's Mike Peluso set a team record for fastest goal from the start of a game, when he scored just :29 into a 3-1 win over the visiting New Jersey Devils.  Peluso later added a second goal as the Senators ended their 0-20-1 winless streak.

1992:  San Jose's Tom Pederson became the first rookie defenseman in NHL history to get points on both the game-tying goal in the final two minutes of regulation and the game winning goal, when he scored at 3:53 of overtime for a 4-3 win at Calgary.

2001:  Sergei Zubov scored two goals in a span of :57 during the third period, and Joe Nieuwendyk had two goals and an assist to lead the Stars to a 4-3 win at Minnesota. The Wild had its largest crowd (19,042) in team history.

2005:  Marian Gaborik became the first player to score 100 career goals as a member of the Minnesota Wild, in a 5-3 win over the visiting St. Louis Blues.

2006:  Brian Rolston became the 8th player to score 100 points as a member of the Minnesota Wild; he reached the milestone with an assist in a 5-3 loss at Columbus.

2008:  Phoenix Coyotes obtained Wyatt Smith from the Tampa Bay Lightning, in exchange for future considerations.

2012:  Mark Parrish officially announced his NHL retirement after 12 seasons with Florida, NY Islanders, Los Angeles, Minnesota Wild, Dallas, Tampa Bay and Buffalo.
