1940:  Former North Stars center Murray Hall born in Kirkland Lake, Ont.  Hall played in the NHL 1961-62 through 1971-72.

1974:  Minnesota's Dennis Hextall scored a goal and added three assists in the North Stars' 4-4 tie against the Capitals at Washington.

1977:  Andre Beaulieu took over as the Minnesota North Stars' Head Coach, replacing Ted Harris.

1980:  Former Wild right winger Branko Radivojevic born in Piestany, Czech.  Radivojevic played in the NHL 2001-02 through 2007-08.

1981:  NHL defenseman Kurtis Foster born in Carp, Ont.  Foster has played in the NHL since 2002-03 with Atlanta, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Edmonton, Anaheim, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Philadelphia.

1982:  Tom McCarthy scored twice and added two assists, as the North Stars lost 8-5 to the Rangers at New York.  All Minnesota goals were scored in the second period.

1982:  Rangers' Rob McClanahan scored his first career hat trick when New York won 8-5 over the visiting Minnesota North Stars.

1989:  Brian Bellows became the 4th player to score 500 points as a member of the Minnesota North Stars, with two goals and an assist in a 7-6 win against the visiting New Jersey Devils.

1992:  Minnesota North Stars centerman - Dan Quinn was arrested for allegations of raping a Twin-Cities woman in Bloomington, MN Marriott Hotel on November 10, 1992.  Quinn posted $30,000 bail and was released from prison.  Quinn maintained that he and the woman had sex, but that it was consensual.  The police did not press charges, and were dropped on this date.  Quinn was subsequently released from the North Stars for violating team rules, and was back in the NHL the next season after a stint in Europe. 

2000:  Minnesota goalie Manny Fernandez recorded the first shutout victory in franchise history (and the second of his NHL career) and Stacy Roest had two assists as the Wild won 2-0 over the visiting Chicago Blackhawks.

2001:  Mark Parrish scored his 3rd career hat trick and added an assist in the Islanders 5-3 win over the visiting Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

2006:  A record held for nearly seven years by St. Paul, MN native - Phil Housley for NHL games played by an American-born player at 1,495 NHL games was broken by Chris Chelios.

2006:  Minnesota's rookie goalie Niklas Backstrom recorded his first career NHL shutout and the Wild registered their first ever shutout against Phoenix, a 4-0 win over the visiting Coyotes.

2007:  Minnesota goalie Niklas Backstrom made 40 saves, and Branko Radivojevic scored the game-winning goal with 1:53 remaining in regulation as the Wild won 4-3 against the Predators at Nashville.

2007:  New Jersey Devils recorded their 900th win since moving to New Jersey and Jamie Langenbrunner tied a team record by assiting on his sixth straight goal (over three games) in a 3-2 win over the Lightning at Tampa Bay.

2008:  Minnesota rookie Cal Clutterbuck scored his first two career NHL goals to lead the Wild to a 4-3 win over the visiting Washington Capitals.  The victory improved the Wild's all-time record at home against the Caps to 5-0.

2010:  Minnesota's Cal Clutterbuck set a team record by recording 12 hits, and moved to the top of the NHL's hit leaders with 94 during a 6-1 loss to the visiting Philadelphia Flyers.
