1918:  Former NHL right winger Aldo Palazzari born in Eveleth, MN.  Palazzari played in the NHL 1943-44 with Boston and the New York Rangers.

1990:  Norman N. Green takes over as the North Stars President with Howard Baldwin's resignation.

1990:  Minnesota North Stars signed free agent Brian Propp.

1992:  NHL left wing Johan Larsson born in Lau, Sweden.  Larsson has played in the NHL since 2012-13 with Minnesota and Buffalo.

1994:  Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba born in Calgary, AB.  Dumba was selected by Minnesota with the seventh overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and has played in the NHL since 2013-14 with Minnesota.  

2003:  New Jersey Devils signed free agent Eric Rasmussen.

2003:  Mighty Ducks of Anaheim signed free agents Mike Mottau, Casey Hankinson, and Garrett Burnett.

2004:  The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, MN named its newest members: Phil Housley, Mark Johnson, Mike Ilitch, and Paul Coppo.

2013:  Vancouver Canucks signed free agent (and Rochester, MN native) Colin Stuart.
