1916: Former NHL right winger John Polich born in Hibbing, MN. Polich played in the NHL 1939-40 through 1940-41 with the New York Rangers.
1950: Former NHL centerman Doug Rombough born in Fergus, Ontario. Rombough played in the NHL 1972-73 through 1975-76 with Buffalo, the New York Islanders and the Minnesota North Stars.
1955: Former NHL defenseman Greg Smith born in Ponoka, Alta. Smith played in the NHL 1975-76 through 1987-88 with Oakland, Cleveland, the Minnesota North Stars, Detroit and Washington.
1957: Former NHL defenseman Brad Maxwell born in Brandon, Manitoba. Maxwell played in the NHL 1977-78 through 1986-87 with the Minnesota North Stars, Quebec, Toronto, Vancouver and the New York Rangers.
1980: Former NHL right winger Eric Chouinard born in Atlanta, Georgia. Chouinard played in the NHL 2002-03 through 2005-06 with Montreal, Philadelphia, the Minnesota Wild and Phoenix.
1982: Former NHL left winger Colin Stuart born in Rochester, MN. Stuart played in the NHL 2007-08 through 2011-2012 with Atlanta and Buffalo.
1994: Dave Snuggerud and John Young become the first players to sign with the newly formed Minnesota Moose of the IHL.
2004: Minnesota Wild announced the signing of free agent Brian Rolston, who had been with the Boston Bruins.
2009: Minnesota Wild signed free agent defensemen Jamie Fraser and Jamie Sifers.
2011: Ottawa Senators sigend free agents Mike McKenna and Mark Parrish.
2015: Minnesota Wild AHL affiliate - Iowa Wild announced the signing of new Assistant Coach - Pascal Rheaume beginning with the 2015-2016 season.
